FASHION / TEXTILE MERCHANDISER – Akaaro (Delhi)

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate all backend production activities. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, tracking progress across multiple processes, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of production tasks. It is similar to a merchandiser role but involves wider operational supervision and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Plan and monitor production schedules for sampling, orders and collections

• Coordinate with weavers, artisans, tailors, and external vendors

• Track progress at every stage and follow up to avoid delays

• Ensure production timelines are met

Inventory & Materials

• Maintain and update fabric, trims and material inventories

• Track consumption, wastage and stock requirements

• Coordinate procurement of materials and follow up with suppliers

Process & Workflow Management

• Maintain production trackers, checklists and documents

• Implement and follow SOPs for day-to-day operations

• Organise daily tasks and ensure clear communication between teams

Quality Control

• Conduct quality checks at key points in the production process

• Communicate and resolve issues with production teams

Vendor & Team Coordination

• Liaise with vendors, suppliers and in-house team members

• Support and supervise production assistants where required

Logistics & Dispatch

• Oversee dispatch for retail, wholesale and online orders

• Ensure proper finishing, packaging and timely delivery

Candidate Requirements

Experience:

• 2–4 years of experience in fashion production, operations, or merchandising

• Experience with apparel or textiles preferred

Skills:

• Strong organisational and follow-up skills

• Ability to multitask and manage timelines

• Comfortable working in a small team

• Good communication with vendors and internal teams

• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving approach
