Job Title: HVAC Safety Engineer / Specialist

The HVAC Safety Engineer / Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe design, installation, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems. This includes identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing best practices for risk prevention across projects and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct safety audits and inspections of HVAC systems and installations.
Review HVAC designs and plans to ensure compliance with safety codes and standards (ASHRAE, OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
Identify potential risks associated with HVAC operations (e.g., refrigerant leaks, ventilation failures, pressure systems).
Develop and implement HVAC-specific safety procedures and emergency response plans.
Monitor and ensure compliance with local, national, and industry regulations.
Train technicians, engineers, and maintenance staff on safe HVAC practices.
Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and health & safety teams to improve HVAC safety performance.
Maintain documentation of safety programs, inspections, and compliance reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in HVAC systems and industrial or construction safety.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC safety standards, codes, and regulations.
Certification in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with HVAC risk assessments, HAZOP, and ventilation safety studies.
Experience working on large commercial or industrial HVAC projects.
Knowledge of refrigerant safety, confined space safety, and fire safety related to HVAC system
