JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LOGISTICS & PROCURMENT MANAGERPosition Title: Logistics & Procurement ManagerDepartment: Supply Chain & ProcurementExperience: 7-10 years in logistics, supply chain management, and procurement operationsSalary: ₹50,000 – ₹60,000 per monthReports To: DirectorLocation: Head Office – GurgaonEmployment Type: Full-timeAge: 30– 35yearsRole Overview:The Logistics & Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, transportation, and timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods. The role involves managing transporters, negotiating freight rates, ensuring cost-effective logistics, and coordinating closely with production, stores, and accounts to maintain smooth supply chain operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring uninterrupted production and on-time customer deliveries.Key Responsibilities:1. Transportation & Logistics Coordination· Ensure timely transportation of all raw materials from suppliers to the plant.· Ensure timely dispatch of all finished goods to customers and other locations.· Coordinate logistics planning with production schedules to avoid delays or bottlenecks.2. Transporter Management & Rate Finalization· Identify, negotiate, and finalize transporters and freight rates to ensure cost efficiency.· Monitor transporter performance and compliance with company standards.· Maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers and resolve transportation issues promptly.3. Procurement Support· Support procurement by coordinating inbound logistics from vendors.· Track material movement and maintain records of transportation costs.· Provide input for cost optimization and budgeting in procurement and logistics.4. Compliance & Documentation· Ensure all transportation activities comply with statutory requirements and company policies.· Maintain accurate records of transport agreements, dispatches, freight bills, and payments.· Coordinate with accounts for timely processing of transporter invoices.Key Deliverables:· Timely arrival of raw materials· On-time dispatch of finished goods· Optimized transportation cost and negotiated rates· Accurate transporter records and compliance documentationSkills & Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field· 10 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or transport management· Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor/transport management· Good knowledge of logistics planning, freight operations, and supply chain coordination· Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and logistics tracking tools
