The AutoCAD Mechanical Engineer is responsible for creating, modifying, and detailing mechanical drawings and designs using AutoCAD and related CAD software. The role involves collaborating with project teams to develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems that meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, assemblies, and layouts using AutoCAD (and/or AutoCAD Mechanical).
Interpret and convert conceptual sketches, specifications, and design requirements into precise technical drawings.
Collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs) and maintain accurate documentation for all design revisions.
Perform basic mechanical calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis when required.
Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and company design guidelines.
Participate in design reviews, provide technical input, and implement feedback.
Coordinate with manufacturing or fabrication teams to resolve design or assembly issues.
Maintain version control of drawings and support the change management process.
Stay updated with the latest CAD tools and mechanical design practices.
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Mechanical preferred).
Experience with other CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Inventor) is an advantage.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and engineering drawing standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, welding, etc.).
Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
