Job Title: Blood Bank Technician

Qualification:

Blood Bank Technician Certificate / Degree recognized by the concerned authority.

Valid State/National Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC/NBTC) license preferred.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Blood Bank Technician to handle all technical and operational activities within the blood bank. The candidate must ensure safe collection, storage, testing, and issue of blood and blood components as per standard protocols and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, label, and store blood and blood components according to established procedures.

Perform blood grouping, cross-matching, compatibility testing, and screening for infections (HIV, Hepatitis, etc.).

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donors, blood units, and test results.

Ensure proper temperature control and inventory management of blood units.

Assist doctors and staff during blood transfusion and emergency cases.

Handle and operate blood bank instruments such as centrifuge, incubator, blood mixer, refrigerator, etc.

Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL and Drug & Cosmetic Act guidelines for blood storage and issue.

Maintain hygiene, sterilization, and biosafety standards within the lab.

Coordinate with hospitals, nursing staff, and donors for smooth blood bank operations.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of blood testing procedures and quality control.

Good communication and record-keeping skills.

Ability to work under pressure, especially during emergencies.
