Field Support Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled IT Engineer to manage and maintain our on-site IT infrastructure, including computer hardware, network connectivity, and critical CCTV surveillance systems. This is a highly hands-on role that requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to ensure maximum uptime for all technological assets within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

I. Hardware and System Maintenance

• Perform diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair work on desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux/MacOS as needed) and essential software applications.

• Manage hardware inventory and coordinate with vendors for component repair or replacement when necessary.

• Execute regular data backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to safeguard company information.

II. Networking and Connectivity

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area network (LAN) and Wi-Fi networks, ensuring stable and high-speed connectivity for all users.

• Install and manage network equipment including routers, switches, and access points.

• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize network efficiency.

III. CCTV and Surveillance Systems

• Install, configure, and maintain all Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, cameras, DVR/NVR devices, and associated wiring/cabling.

• Diagnose and repair faults within the surveillance infrastructure to ensure continuous 24/7 monitoring capability.

• Provide support for retrieving and managing footage from the CCTV system as required by management.

IV. User Support and Documentation

• Provide prompt Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end-users for all IT-related issues (hardware, software, network access).

• Document all technical procedures, network configurations, and troubleshooting steps in a centralized knowledge base.

• Ensure compliance with organizational IT security policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

• Experience: 1-3 years of proven experience in IT support, hardware repair, and/or network maintenance.

• Strong practical knowledge of computer internal components and repair methodologies.

• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network cabling standards.

• Proven ability to work with and troubleshoot various CCTV/IP camera systems.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Certifications like CompTIA A+ or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
