Lift/Elevator Technician

1. Role Purpose

To carry out safe, accurate, and timely erection of elevator components as per Escon standards, drawings, and safety guidelines, ensuring quality installation and smooth handover for testing.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Installation & Erection

• Install elevator components such as rails, brackets, machine units, cabin, counterweight, doors, and wiring as per approved drawings.

• Ensure proper alignment and leveling of guide rails, door frames, and other critical components.

• Follow the installation sequence and SOPs provided by Escon.

• Assist in machine room equipment installation and hoist-way preparation.

• Support the testing team during trial runs, load testing, and final commissioning.

B. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols strictly while working at heights, shaft areas, and during machine operations.

• Ensure usage of PPE (helmet, safety belt, gloves, shoes, etc.) at all times.

• Report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately to the supervisor.

• Maintain housekeeping at the work site as per Escon safety norms.

C. Quality & Documentation

• Complete installation checklists and daily progress reports.

• Ensure all materials used are as per BOM and report shortages or damages.

• Adhere to quality standards during installation to avoid rework.

• Maintain proper documentation for inspections and handover.

D. Team Coordination

• Coordinate with the Installation Engineer for material sequencing and work scheduling.

• Assist and guide helpers/trainees at site.

• Cooperate with client/contractor representatives during site inspections.

3. Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical installation work.

• Ability to read installation drawings and follow instructions.

• Knowledge of tools, tackles, and lifting equipment.

• Awareness of safety standards for elevator installation.

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.

• Problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn.

4. Qualification & Experience

• Qualification: ITI Fitter / Electrician / Wireman or equivalent.

• Experience: 0–5 years in elevator installation preferred.

• Freshers with technical background can also be considered.

5. Working Conditions

• Field job involving travel to various sites.

• Requires working in shafts, machine rooms, and at heights.

• May require extended working hours depending on project timelines.

• It is a Full Time Technician job for candidates with 0 - 1 years of experience.
