Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Sales Manager / Area Sales Manager with strong expertise in FMCG distributor-based sales. The candidate will be responsible for building, managing, and expanding a PAN India distributor network, driving primary and secondary sales, and achieving revenue growth. Exposure to export markets will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor & Channel Management
Appoint, develop, and manage distributors across PAN India
Ensure proper distributor coverage, stock availability, and ROI
Drive distributor-led sales through wholesalers, retailers, and modern trade (where applicable)
Monitor distributor performance and take corrective actions
Sales & Revenue Growth
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Drive primary and secondary sales consistently
Develop and execute state-wise and region-wise sales plans
Identify new markets and growth opportunities
Market Development
Launch products in new territories
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing
Support branding, trade schemes, and promotional activities
Ensure proper product placement and visibility
Team & Coordination
Coordinate with internal teams (supply chain, finance, marketing)
Guide and support sales officers / field executives (if any)
Ensure timely collections and credit control
Export Sales (Additional Advantage)
Identify export opportunities for mustard oil, wheat products, and fruit powder
Assist in onboarding overseas distributors or buyers
Coordinate with export documentation and compliance teams
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience
5–10+ years of experience in FMCG sales
Strong background in distributor network management
Experience in edible oil, food products, grains, or ingredients preferred
Proven track record of PAN India sales handling
Skills & Competencies
Strong distributor appointment and negotiation skills
Market expansion and channel development expertise
Target-driven and analytical mindset
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Willingness to travel extensively
Education
MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred
Graduate with relevant FMCG experience can also be considered
