Restaurant Captain

Role Overview:

The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring excellent guest experience, and maintaining smooth day-to-day restaurant operations. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to train and motivate staff while upholding service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff to deliver high-quality service.

• Greet and interact with guests, ensuring satisfaction and handling any concerns promptly.

• Assign tables, monitor seating arrangements, and manage reservations for efficient flow.

• Guide and train service staff on menu knowledge, upselling techniques, and service etiquette.

• Conduct pre-shift briefings to update staff on menu changes, specials, and service priorities.

• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and proper setup of dining areas.

• Monitor order accuracy and timely delivery of food & beverages.

• Support the Restaurant Manager in inventory control and requisition of supplies.

• Handle billing issues, cash transactions, and maintain service records.

• Maintain a positive and professional work environment to motivate the team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain / Head Waiter / Senior Steward.

• Strong knowledge of food & beverage service standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.

• Problem-solving and customer-handling skills.

• Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent preferred.
