Job Role: -
A critical care experienced staff nurse in the ICU setting is responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill patients, managing life support equipment, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. They also play a vital role in monitoring patients' conditions, educating families, and participating in emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities:-
• Patient Care: Providing direct care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing life support equipment like ventilators.
• Assessment and Planning: Assessing patients' conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Medication Administration: Administering medications and other treatments as prescribed by physicians, while maintaining accurate records of medication administration.
• Equipment Management: Operating and maintaining specialized medical equipment, such as ventilators, monitors, and other life support systems.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective care and patient well-being.
• Emergency Response: Participating in emergency procedures, including intubation and resuscitation, and responding to changes in patient status.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Education and Support: Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families, as well as mentoring and supporting other nursing staff.
• Professional Development: Staying up-to-date on current critical care nursing practices, participating in research, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.




Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) License: Current and valid RN license.
• Critical Care Certification: Certification in critical care nursing (CCRN) is often preferred.
• ICU Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
• Clinical Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, including the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and managing life support equipment.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Emergency Response Skills: Proficiency in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) is often required.

Qualification: B.Sc Nursing / GNM (Valid registration required)
