Job Description – Production Executive (MV Capacitor & Reactor Division)

1. Position Overview

The Production Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all manufacturing activities related to Medium Voltage (MV) Capacitors and Reactors. The role ensures timely production, quality compliance, resource utilisation, and efficient workflow across winding, assembly, drying, tanking, testing, and dispatch operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Coordination

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales orders and deadlines.

• Allocate work to winding, soldering, assembly, drying, reactor winding, core assembly, tanking, and finishing teams.

• Monitor the movement of material and ensure smooth flow between processes.

• Coordinate with purchase for material availability and ensure zero line stoppages.

B. Manufacturing Supervision

• Supervise all stages of MV capacitor manufacturing:

  • APP element winding

  • Soldering and element assembly

  • Drying & vacuum process

  • Tanking, oil filling (if applicable)

  • Testing (IR, HV, Tan Delta, Capacitance)

• Supervise reactor manufacturing:

  • Core assembly

  • LV/HV winding

  • Varnishing, drying & insulation build-up

  • Tank assembly and terminal fitting

• Ensure strict adherence to drawings, QAP, SOPs, and customer specifications.

C. Quality & Process Control

• Monitor in-process quality and ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards.

• Reduce in-process rejections and eliminate repetitive defects.

• Ensure proper DFT, insulation, clearances, and dielectric quality.

• Work closely with QC team for inspections and corrective actions.

D. Manpower Management

• Manage and guide operators, winders, soldermen, assembly workers, testers, and helpers.

• Conduct job allocation, shift planning, and manpower utilisation.

• Ensure proper skill development and provide training for process improvement.

E. Inventory & Production Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports (DPR), WIP tracking, and finished goods status.

• Ensure correct withdrawal of materials and maintain stock accuracy.

• Track consumption of aluminium foil, PP film, cores, copper conductors, resin, oil, etc.

• Report production delays or material shortages to management.

F. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and proper use of PPE.

• Monitor safe handling of foils, films, cores, heavy components, hot oil, and spray painting.

• Maintain 5S and housekeeping across the production floor.

G. Process Improvement

• Implement Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction, and lean manufacturing practices.

• Improve productivity, cycle time, and equipment utilisation.

• Support new product development (capacitors, reactors, filter banks).

• Identify areas of cost reduction without compromising quality.

3. Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MV capacitor & reactor manufacturing processes.

• Understanding of APP winding, dielectric handling, vacuum drying, tanking, and electrical testing.

• Familiarity with reactor core assembly, winding, insulation, and finishing.

• Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.

• Ability to read drawings, QAPs, and technical specifications.

• Problem-solving & decision-making ability.

• Basic knowledge of ERP and MS Office for reporting.

4. Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / BE in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• 1–3 years experience in MV capacitor, LV/MV panel, or reactor manufacturing industry.

• Experience in supervising production teams is preferred.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and basic quality procedures is an advantage.

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 1 - 5 years of experience.
