Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring accuracy, safety, and a high standard of patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and adherence to laboratory protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection from patients of all age groups.

• Label and process blood samples accurately for testing or transportation.

• Ensure proper identification of patients before sample collection.

• Maintain sample integrity by following safe handling and storage procedures.

• Prepare and maintain necessary equipment and supplies for blood collection.

• Record patient information and update laboratory records as required.

• Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.

• Provide a calm and reassuring environment to patients during sample collection.

• Coordinate with laboratory staff, nurses, and doctors for smooth operations.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / CMLT) or equivalent.

• Proven experience as a phlebotomist or in blood collection procedures.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory practices, and safety standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage patient anxiety and perform procedures calmly.

• Basic computer skills for handling lab software and reports.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hospital, diagnostic centre, or home collection services.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment
