Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Marker Fitter with an ITI certification in Metal Fabrication or a related trade. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately marking layout lines and reference points on metal surfaces based on engineering drawings and specifications. This position plays a vital role in ensuring precision during the cutting, drilling, and assembly of fabricated metal structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and read fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.

• Mark layout lines, reference points, and indicators on raw metal materials using tools such as scribers, punches, and chalk.

• Measure and mark cutting lines on metal plates, pipes, and sections according to job requirements.

• Coordinate with fitters, welders, and CNC operators to ensure dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.

• Verify measurements and minimize material wastage during fabrication.

• Select and mark appropriate templates, fixtures, and gauges for each job.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

• Follow safety protocols and promptly report any hazards, defects, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• ITI certification in Fitter, Fabrication, Mechanical, or a related trade.

• 4–6 years of experience as a Marker Fitter in the metal fabrication or heavy engineering industry.

• Strong knowledge of measurement tools such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, scribers, and punches.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication sketches, and technical specifications.

• Excellent hand–eye coordination and high attention to detail.

• Physically fit and capable of working in a workshop or factory environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in sheet metal layout, heavy fabrication, or structural steel marking.

• Familiarity with fabrication shop practices, welding symbols, and related standards.

• Basic understanding of CNC cutting operations and machine shop coordination.
