Job Description: 

We are seeking skilled Data Center Technicians (L1 and L2) to support server and network infrastructure installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a data center environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with servers, switches, cabling, and coordination with network administrators to ensure systems are installed, configured, and functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities

L1 Technician Responsibilities (1–2 Years Experience)

• Move servers and network switches to required destinations for installation

• Inspect servers and switches to ensure no physical damage

• Perform smoke testing to verify server functionality

• Install servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps

• Ensure all cabling is bundled neatly and complies with Nvidia standards

• Coordinate with network administrators to verify correct cabling and active connections

• Install additional server components (NICs, drives, memory) as required

• Assist with unboxing and preparation of servers

• Perform auditing of servers and consumables

L2 Technician Responsibilities (2–5 Years Experience)

• Troubleshoot server-related issues and isolate hardware or connectivity problems

• Order replacement parts, install them, and ship defective parts back to vendors

• Update server firmware to the latest approved versions

• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers

• Assist network administrators with issues including:

  • Replacing damaged or broken cables

  • Re-routing cables to different server or switch ports

  • Replacing optics on server and switch ports

  • Installing upgraded hardware components

• Temporarily rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to allow remote configuration by network admins

• Provide direct support to network administrators requesting server or switch assistance

• Perform all L1 responsibilities as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with servers, switches, and data center hardware

• Strong understanding of structured cabling and wire maps

• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues

• Familiarity with server components (NICs, drives, memory, optics)

• Experience working with network administrators and cross-functional teams

• Ability to follow standards, procedures, and documentation

• Comfortable working in a data center environment (racking, stacking, lifting equipment)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale data center environments

• Familiarity with firmware updates and basic server configuration

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, ports, optics)
