Position: Interior Sales Representative

Reports To: Sales Manager / Director of Sales / Principal Designer
1.0 Position Overview
The Interior Sales Representative is a pivotal role responsible for generating new sales leads, nurturing client relationships, and closing deals for the company's interior design services and/or products (e.g., furniture, furnishings, materials). This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for design, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in sales. The representative acts as the primary point of contact for potential clients, understanding their needs and translating them into viable project proposals.
2.0 Primary Objectives
To achieve and exceed assigned monthly and annual sales targets.
To generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads.
To convert consultations into signed contracts for design services and product sales.
To maintain high levels of client satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
To represent the company's brand with professionalism and design expertise.
3.0 Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
3.1 Lead Generation & Prospecting
Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking, social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Houzz), and cold calling.
Follow up on inbound leads from marketing campaigns, website inquiries, and referrals in a timely manner (e.g., within 24 hours).
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients using the company's CRM software.
Attend industry events, home shows, and networking functions to promote the company.
3.2 Client Consultation & Needs Analysis
Conduct initial client consultations (in-person, virtual, or by phone) to understand the client's vision, budget, timeline, and requirements.
Effectively communicate the company's design process, service offerings, and value proposition.
Build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
3.3 Proposal Development & Presentation
Collaborate with interior designers and estimators to develop compelling, accurate, and detailed project proposals and quotes.
Prepare and present proposals to clients, clearly articulating the scope of work, investment, and terms & conditions.
Address client questions and objections professionally and knowledgeably.
3.4 Sales Closing & Contract Administration
Negotiate terms and close sales to meet revenue targets.
Prepare and manage client contracts, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and filed correctly.
Secure deposits and initiate the project handoff process to the design/operations team.
3.5 Account Management & Relationship Building
Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the initial sales process.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services or products.
Foster long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and client referrals.
3.6 Administrative & Reporting Duties
Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in the CRM.
Provide regular sales forecasts and activity reports to management.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and new products.

5.0 Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven sales experience, preferably in interior design, high-end furniture, luxury retail, home building, or a related field.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to understand and interpret client aesthetic preferences.
Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), Microsoft Office Suite, and design software basics (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) is a plus.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings.
6.0 Collaboration & Interfaces
The Interior Sales Representative will work closely with:
Interior Design Team: To ensure proposed projects are feasible and to hand off won projects smoothly.
Project Management / Operations: To understand timelines and project flow.
Marketing Team: To provide feedback on leads and collaborate on promotional efforts.
Leadership: To report on sales performance and strategy.
7.0 Compensation & Terms
Structure: Base Salary + Commission
Commission Structure: Details on commission rates, bonuses for exceeding targets, and terms of payment.
Expenses: Guidelines for reimbursement of pre-approved business expenses (e.g., mileage).
Schedule: Full-time position. Flexibility for evening and weekend appointments as needed.
