Job Description

The Delivery Executive is responsible for picking up packages, documents, or other items from a distribution center, restaurant, or designated location and delivering them to the specified recipient in a professional and timely manner. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery and Logistics:Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle (motorcycle, car, van, etc.) safely.Follow assigned routes and time schedules, planning and optimizing routes for maximum efficiency.Ensure the timely delivery of items to the correct addresses.Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transport.Customer Service:Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.Address customer inquiries and resolve minor delivery issues or complaints promptly.Verify the identity of the recipient and obtain signatures or other proof of delivery.Administrative & Financial:Accept and record payment for delivered items (e.g., Cash on Delivery), if applicable.Maintain accurate records of deliveries, payments, and vehicle mileage.Report any discrepancies, accidents, or traffic violations to a supervisor immediately.Vehicle Maintenance (if using a company vehicle):Perform routine pre- and post-delivery vehicle checks (e.g., tires, lights, fluid levels).Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not always required).Licensing: Valid driver's license for the type of vehicle used (e.g., motorcycle, car).Experience: Prior experience in a delivery or courier role is often preferred.Driving Record: A clean driving record is typically mandatory.Knowledge: Working knowledge of local roads, streets, and navigation (including GPS).Physical: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items and be physically fit for the demands of the job.Essential SkillsTime Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure deliveries are completed within deadlines.Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle customer interactions effectively.Reliability: Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and find alternate routes or solutions to delivery challenges (e.g., traffic, customer not available).Attention to Detail: Meticulous in verifying orders, records, and recipient details.Safety Conscious: Strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
