Job Title: Electric Meter Reader

Job Summary:

An Electric Meter Reader is responsible for visiting residential, commercial, and industrial properties to read, record, and report electricity usage from electric meters accurately and efficiently. This role ensures timely and accurate billing for electricity consumption and helps identify irregularities or faults in the metering system.

Key Responsibilities:

Visit assigned locations to read electricity meters according to schedules.

Record meter readings accurately and submit them through digital devices or manual logs.

Identify and report meter malfunctions, tampering, or anomalies.

Provide customer support by answering basic inquiries regarding meter readings.

Maintain records of all readings, routes, and any issues encountered.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during fieldwork.

Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate data entry and billing.

Assist in meter installation verification or meter replacement, if required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic numeracy and attention to detail for accurate meter reading.

Familiarity with digital devices for electronic meter reading (optional but preferred).

Good physical fitness to walk or travel to multiple locations daily.

Strong observational and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Knowledge of safety regulations and precautions in electrical environments.
