Head of Design – Interior Design Firm
Role Overview
We are hiring a Head of Design to lead and mentor a team of 20 designers and ensure projects are delivered with strong design quality, system adherence, and timeline discipline.
This role works closely with departmental heads—Project, Purchase, Sales, System, and Management—to ensure smooth project flow, strong design outcomes, and alignment with business goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead 5 design teams, consisting of 25 designers
Maintain design quality, consistency, and brand design language
Build team capability through reviews, mentoring, and guidance
Support teams when they are stuck and escalate issues with clear solutions
Ensure uniform workload distribution across teams and 3D visualisers
Own on-time design delivery across all projects
Ensure adherence to defined design systems and processes
Identify and resolve design bottlenecks proactively
Introduce relevant design trends and new materials with practical implementation
Work closely with Project, Purchase, Sales, and Systems heads to implement process-oriented solutions
Represent the Design Department in inter-department coordination

Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design / Architecture
10+ years of experience in interior design with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects
3+ years of experience in a similar leadership role
Skill Sets
Proven experience in design leadership and team management
High process orientation and problem-solving ability
Excellent cross-functional coordination skills
Strong understanding of materials, trends, and execution realities
Ability to balance design excellence with timelines and business goals
Software Skills
AutoCAD (advanced working knowledge)
SketchUp (design development understanding)
V-Ray / Enscape / Lumion (visualisation coordination)
Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (tracking and coordination)
Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides (presentations)
