Key Responsibilities:
Design and Conceptualization:
Lead the conceptualization and design of interior spaces, including space planning, furniture layout, and material selection.
Create detailed sketches, 3D models, and mood boards to present to clients and internal teams.
Incorporate both aesthetic and functional elements into the design, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Project Management:
Manage multiple interior design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery.
Conduct site visits, supervise installations, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
Lead the interior manufacturing team, ensuring that design concepts are translated into practical and high-quality products.
Collaboration with Manufacturing Teams:
Work closely with the manufacturing department to ensure that designs are feasible for production.
Provide technical specifications and material lists to the production team.
Resolve any design challenges that arise during the manufacturing and installation process.
Client Interaction and Presentations:
Engage with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and project goals.
Present design ideas, revisions, and final concepts to clients, ensuring satisfaction at all stages of the project.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle.
Material Selection and Sourcing:
Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings based on project requirements and budgets.
Ensure that all selected materials align with manufacturing capabilities and timelines.
Budget Management:
Develop cost estimates for interior projects, including materials, labour, and project timelines.
Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
Team Leadership and Training:
Mentor junior designers and interns, providing guidance on design principles, software, and best practices.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment within the design and manufacturing teams.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Stay updated on the latest trends, materials, and technologies in the interior design and manufacturing industries.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
3+ years of professional experience in interior design, preferably within the interior manufacturing industry.
Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, or equivalent).
Excellent understanding of space planning, colour theory, and material selection.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Experience in high-end residential and commercial projects is a plus.
