Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role acts as a key contributor to financial strategy, provides guidance to junior accounting staff, and ensures compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and financial data.

Month-End & Year-End Closing

• Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities.

• Reconcile accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.

• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.

Accounting Operations

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets functions.

• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with GAAP/IFRS.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.

• Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation.

• Monitor compliance with tax rules; assist with tax filings as needed.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve financial reporting.

• Implement best practices in accounting operations.

• Participate in system improvements or ERP implementations.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior accountants.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, HR, and Operations.

• Communicate financial information clearly to management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus.

Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.

Work Environment

• May work in corporate, public, or hybrid/remote settings.

• Occasional overtime during peak periods (month/year-end close).
