Job Summary

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer to join our manufacturing team at Changodar, Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate should have a technical understanding of mechanical components/materials along with good communication, vendor coordination and negotiation skills.

Freshers and candidates with 0–2 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement in a manufacturing or engineering company are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and coordinate with new and existing vendors.

• Source raw materials, mechanical components, consumables, tools and other engineering items.

• Send RFQs (Request for Quotations) to vendors and collect quotations.

• Prepare quotation comparison statements based on price, quality, specifications and delivery.

• Negotiate with suppliers regarding price, payment terms and delivery schedules.

• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).

• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.

• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Planning and Accounts departments.

• Ensure availability of materials as per production requirements.

• Maintain purchase records, vendor database, quotations and PO documentation.

• Assist in vendor evaluation and development of alternate suppliers.

• Support cost reduction and improve procurement efficiency.

• Resolve material shortages, delivery delays and supplier-related issues.

• Maintain MIS reports and purchase-related data using MS Excel/ERP.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of mechanical components, raw materials and manufacturing processes.

• Good communication and vendor coordination skills.

• Basic negotiation and analytical skills.

• Knowledge of Purchase/Procurement procedures.

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.

• Knowledge of ERP/SAP/Tally will be an added advantage.

• Ability to work with multiple departments and meet deadlines.

• Willingness to learn and build a career in Purchase & Procurement.

• MBA – Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement candidates can also apply.

• 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing/purchase/procurement.

• Freshers with good communication and technical knowledge are welcome.

• Immediate joiners preferred.

• Candidates who can conveniently commute to Changodar will be preferred.

• It is a Full Time Warehouse / Logistics job for candidates with 6 months - 4 years of experience.
