Job Title: Bank Assistant

Department: Operations / Customer Service

Reports To: Branch Manager or Senior Officer

Job Summary:

The Bank Assistant provides administrative and customer support within the branch to ensure smooth banking operations. This role involves assisting customers with routine transactions, maintaining accurate records, supporting loan and account processing, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account inquiries.

• Handle cash, cheques, and other financial instruments accurately and securely.

• Support account opening, closing, and maintenance processes.

• Assist in processing loan applications, verifying documents, and maintaining records.

• Maintain daily transaction logs and reconcile cash balances.

• Respond to customer queries and escalate complex issues to senior staff when necessary.

• Promote bank products and services to customers.

• Ensure compliance with bank policies, security measures, and RBI regulations.

• Support the branch in preparing reports, data entry, and filing documents.

• Coordinate with internal departments for operational tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

• Prior experience in a banking or financial institution preferred.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, banking software).

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.

Work Environment:

• Office/branch-based role.

• Regular interaction with customers and team members.

• May involve handling cash and financial documentation.

Salary Range:
