Role Overview

A Sr. Academic Counsellor in the EdTech sector is responsible for guiding students and professionals in selecting suitable courses based on their academic background, career goals, and interests, while driving enrollments for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Counseling

• Connect with prospective students via calls, emails, and chats

• Understand student needs, career aspirations, and challenges

• Provide accurate information about courses, curriculum, and outcomes

• Recommend the best-fit programs

Admissions & Conversion

• Convert leads into enrollments through effective counseling

• Follow up with interested candidates regularly

• Handle objections and provide solutions to close admissions

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects

• Ensure a smooth admission and onboarding process

• Maintain a positive student experience

CRM & Reporting

• Update lead details and track interactions in CRM tools

• Maintain accurate records of conversations and status

• Meet daily/weekly activity and performance targets

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)

• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

• Basic sales and negotiation skills

• Ability to understand student requirements quickly

• Goal-oriented and self-motivated

Good-to-Have

• Prior experience in EdTech / counseling / sales

• Familiarity with CRM tools

• Interest in education and career guidance
