Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM) - Electronics

Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Head

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our sales operations in the Raipur and Chhattisgarh region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales management within the electronics industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of the local market, distribution networks, and customer preferences. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth, expanding market share for our electronic products, and building a high-performing sales team in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Planning for Electronics Market:

    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans specifically tailored for the electronics market in Raipur and across Chhattisgarh, focusing on product categories such as consumer electronics (e.g., TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, mobile phones, audio devices), home appliances, IT peripherals, or other relevant electronic goods.

    • Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets for primary and secondary sales of electronic products for the assigned territory.

    • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities within the electronics sector to identify growth opportunities and refine sales strategies.

    • Plan and execute targeted sales initiatives and promotional campaigns for new product launches and existing electronic product lines.

  • Channel Development & Management (Electronics):

    • Identify, onboard, and manage a strong network of distributors, dealers, retailers, and modern trade partners specific to the electronics industry in Raipur and surrounding areas of Chhattisgarh.

    • Optimize distribution channels to ensure widespread availability and visibility of our electronic products.

    • Conduct regular market visits to key retail points and trade partners to assess market conditions, address challenges, and strengthen relationships.

    • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with channel partners to maximize sales and profitability.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Sales Executives/Representatives specializing in electronics sales.

    • Provide regular training and coaching on product knowledge (specific electronic products), sales techniques, and market dynamics relevant to the electronics sector.

    • Conduct performance reviews, set individual KPIs, and provide constructive feedback to foster a high-performing sales culture.

    • Ensure the sales team is well-equipped with the necessary tools, product samples, and marketing collateral.

  • Market Intelligence & Business Development:

    • Gather comprehensive market intelligence on competitor pricing, new product introductions, marketing strategies, and consumer buying behavior in the Chhattisgarh electronics market.

    • Identify new business opportunities, including potential for institutional sales, project sales, or e-commerce expansion within the electronics domain.

    • Participate in local electronics trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events in Raipur to promote our brand and products.

  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers, major retailers, and channel partners in the electronics segment.

    • Address customer grievances related to electronic products promptly and effectively, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

    • Ensure excellent post-sales support and service coordination in collaboration with service teams.

  • Reporting & Compliance:

    • Prepare and present accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis specifically pertaining to electronic product sales in the Raipur region.

    • Manage budgets effectively, including trade marketing spends and sales incentives.

    • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations.

    • Oversee inventory management at the distributor and retail level to prevent stockouts or overstocking of electronic goods.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1years of progressive sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales management or Area Sales Manager role.

    • Mandatory background experience in an Electronics Company (e.g., Consumer Electronics, Home Appliances, Mobile Phones, IT Hardware, Components, etc.).

    • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in the electronics industry.

    • Prior experience working in the Chhattisgarh market, particularly Raipur, is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of local market dynamics, trade practices, and consumer preferences.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of various electronic products, their features, benefits, and market positioning.

  • Electronics Market Acumen: Strong grasp of the electronics retail landscape, modern trade, and distribution channels in India, especially in Chhattisgarh.

  • Leadership & Team Building: Proven ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to formulate and execute effective sales strategies for the electronics market.

  • Negotiation & Persuasion: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi (local language proficiency would be an advantage).

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret sales data, market trends, and make informed business decisions.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues related to sales, distribution, and customer satisfaction.

  • CRM & Tech Proficiency: Proficient in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations)

  • Local Networking: Established network with key dealers, distributors, and retailers in the Raipur and Chhattisgarh electronics market is a significant advantage.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within Raipur and other parts of Chhattisgarh as required.
