Job Description

Job Title: Sales Trainer

About the Role

The Sales Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering effective training programs that elevate knowledge, sales execution, and performance among sales teams. You’ll work in partnership with sales leadership to uncover skill gaps, deliver dynamic learning sessions, and continuously assess training outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct skills‑gap analyses to identify areas for improvement in sales reps’ performance and capabilities

  • Design training curricula—including onboarding, advanced sales techniques, and role-play scenarios—within time and budget constraints

  • Produce engaging training materials such as presentations, videos, case studies, simulations, and digital modules Empire State

  • Deliver learning sessions both in-person and virtually, including workshops, bootcamps, and coaching clinics Empire State

  • Provide hands-on mentorship and feedback to sales teams; guide individuals toward improved skills and quota attainment

  • Monitor training outcomes, including changes in conversion rates, deal size, and rep productivity—recommend improvements based on data and feedback

  • Gather learner feedback and collaborate with managers and trainers to refine programs continuously worklis.

  • Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders—Sales, Product, Marketing, HR—to ensure alignment between training and business strategy.

  • Keep training content up-to-date with industry trends, sales methodologies (Sanders, SPIN, Challenger etc.), and emerging learning technologies .


Qualifications & Skills

Education & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, HR, or related field

  • Certifications such as Certified Sales Trainer (CST), Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP), or instructional design credentials are a plus .

Experience & Sales Expertise

  • 3+ years of experience as a sales trainer or in a sales capacity with training responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies and consultative selling, ideally in B2B or SaaS environments

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e‑learning platforms, CRMs (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), and virtual training tools.

  • Proficiency in performance analytics—able to interpret metrics and translate them into actionable training adjustments
