About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to support sales and market expansion activities in the FMCG sector. The role involves identifying prospects, generating leads, building relationships with distributors/retailers, and supporting revenue growth through structured follow-ups and field/business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities in FMCG markets B2B
Conduct market research to map potential distributors, retailers, and channel partners
Generate and qualify leads through calls, emails, and in-person meetings
Support sales targets through consistent follow-ups and relationship building
Assist in on-ground brand activation, trade promotions, and events
Maintain and grow strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts
Prepare and maintain sales pipeline, visit reports, and MIS
Coordinate closely with the sales & marketing teams to align strategies
Handle inquiries, quotations, and basic negotiations with prospects
Collect market intelligence about competition, pricing, and customer preferences
Required Skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to do cold calling and outbound prospecting
Confidence in dealing with retailers, distributors, and field teams
Basic understanding of FMCG sales channels and trade marketing
Proficiency in MS Excel / CRM tools (added advantage)
Good relationship-building and negotiation ability
Preferred Background
Experience in FMCG sales / business development / demand generation will be preferred
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business, or related field
MBA/PGDM preferred but not mandatory
