Job Summary
The HR Executive – Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws is responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all applicable labour laws, statutory regulations, and government requirements. The role involves managing documentation, filings, audits, and employee-related statutory benefits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws such as:
PF (Provident Fund)
ESI (Employee State Insurance)
Gratuity
Bonus Act
Shops & Establishment Act
Minimum Wages Act
Maintain statutory registers and records as per legal requirements
Handle labour inspections and audits
2. Payroll & Statutory Deductions
Coordinate with payroll team for:
PF, ESI, PT deductions
Timely statutory payments
Verify challans and returns before submission
Ensure compliance with wage laws and timely salary processing
3. Returns & Filings
Prepare and submit:
PF returns (ECR filing)
ESI returns
Professional Tax filings
Labour welfare fund filings
Ensure timely renewal of licenses and registrations
4. Employee Documentation & Compliance
Maintain employee records related to statutory requirements
Ensure proper KYC for PF & ESI
Handle employee queries related to statutory benefits
5. Labour Law Advisory
Keep updated with amendments in labour laws
Advise management on statutory compliance risks
Implement new compliance requirements in the organization
6. Liaison & Coordination
Coordinate with:
Government authorities
Labour consultants
Auditors
Represent the company during inspections
7. Audit & Risk Management
Prepare documents for internal and external audits
Identify compliance gaps and suggest corrective actions
Maintain compliance tracker and reports
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Indian Labour Laws
Experience in PF, ESI, PT, Bonus, Gratuity
Good understanding of payroll processes
Attention to detail and documentation skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to handle audits and inspections
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Commerce, or Law
MBA / PGDM in HR (preferred)
Certification in Labour Laws (added advantage)
Experience
2–5 years of experience in statutory compliance / labour law handling
