Job Title: Welder / Fabrication Technician

Department: Production / Site Operations
Location: Ezhichur, Kanchipuram
Reporting To: Production Manager / Site Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Welder to handle various welding and fabrication tasks related to MS containers, UPVC doors and windows fitting, structural units, and site-based metal fabrication work. The ideal candidate must be proficient in welding techniques (Arc, MIG, etc.), capable of reading fabrication drawings, and experienced in both workshop and onsite welding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication for:

  • Mild Steel (MS) containers

  • UPVC door and window frames (welding/joining where applicable)

  • Site office structures, kiosks, and portable cabins

  • Steel frames, trusses, support beams, and other structural components

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches.

• Measure, cut, and weld materials accurately as per specifications.

• Operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and fabrication tools safely.

• Assemble components using jigs/fixtures, tack weld, and complete welding with a quality finish.

• Conduct quality checks on welds and structures for strength, accuracy, and finish.

• Follow safety protocols while working at the workshop or construction sites.

• Assist in the installation and fitting of prefabricated units at client sites when required.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

• Collaborate with the site team, supervisors, and engineers for smooth execution.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• ITI or equivalent certification in welding/fabrication.

• Minimum 1–5 years of hands-on welding experience, preferably in the fabrication industry.

• Knowledge of welding methods: Arc, MIG, and basic gas cutting.

• Ability to work from technical drawings and layout sketches.

• Basic understanding of UPVC hardware fitting and installation (preferred).

• Familiarity with safety standards and PPE usage.

• Physically fit and willing to work at project sites when needed.

Preferred Qualities:

• Experience in container modifications and cabin manufacturing.

• Flexibility to work in different project locations.

• Team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
