Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that pressure die-cast and CNC-machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. The role involves conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections, identifying defects, maintaining quality records, and supporting continuous improvement activities to achieve zero-defect production.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspection of pressure die-cast and CNC-machined components.

· Verify product dimensions and specifications using measuring instruments.

· Inspect components for casting defects such as porosity, blow holes, cold shuts, flash, and surface imperfections.

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.

· Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and non-conformance documentation.

· Monitor process quality and report deviations to production and quality teams.

· Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.

· Ensure proper segregation and identification of non-conforming products.

· Verify calibration status of measuring instruments before use.

· Participate in internal audits, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Ensure compliance with customer requirements, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 standards where applicable.

Required Skills & Competencies

ü Strong knowledge of Pressure Die Casting and CNC machining processes.

ü Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

ü Familiarity with measuring instruments and inspection techniques.

ü Good observation, analytical, and reporting skills.

ü Basic computer knowledge for documentation and reporting.

ü Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

ü Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as:

• Vernier Caliper

• Micrometer

• Height Gauge

• Bore Gauge

• Dial Indicator

• Thread & Plug Gauges

• CMM (preferred)

· Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plans.

· Understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and defect analysis.

· Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

· Proficiency in MS Excel and quality documentation.

Educational Qualification

· Diploma / ITI / Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience

· 0-3 years of experience in Quality Inspection within Pressure Die Casting and CNC Machining industry preferred

Preferred Knowledge

• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and basic quality systems.

• Understanding of ISO/IATF quality standards is an added advantage.

Working Conditions

• Shop floor-based role involving continuous monitoring and inspection activities.

• May require shift work depending on production schedules.
