Job Title: Production head/Plant Head (Buffing & Zinc Casting)

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities in the Buffing and Casting sections, ensuring quality output, efficient utilization of manpower and materials, adherence to safety standards, and timely achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

• Prepare and execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans for Buffing and Casting lines.

• Monitor production output and ensure targets are met within defined timelines.

• Coordinate with planning and maintenance teams to ensure minimum downtime.

2. Process Management

• Supervise and control buffing, polishing, and casting operations to maintain consistent quality.

• Ensure proper machine settings, mold handling, and metal casting procedures.

• Continuously monitor process parameters and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance

• Maintain product quality standards as per company and customer specifications.

• Coordinate with the QA team to identify and eliminate process defects.

• Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality issues.

4. Manpower Management

• Manage, train, and motivate shop floor supervisors and operators.

• Plan shift schedules and allocate tasks effectively.

• Ensure discipline, safety, and performance standards are maintained.

5. Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

• Ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition to avoid production loss.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and statutory regulations.

• Conduct regular safety audits and housekeeping inspections in the production area.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily production reports, rejection analysis, and efficiency records.

• Track raw material and consumable usage for cost control.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of zinc die casting, polishing, and buffing processes.

• Hands-on experience with casting furnaces, buffing machines, and polishing equipment.

• Leadership and team management skills.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S principles.

Qualification & Experience:

• Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Metallurgical Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum 8–12 years in production, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role in Buffing and Casting operations.

Work Environment:

• Shop floor-based role with direct supervision of workers.

• Requires adherence to PPE and safety guidelines.

Salary Range: 80K-125LPM for best candidate.

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 5 - 6+ years Experience.
