Machine Operator

Job Requirements

1. Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Fitter Trade

2. Years of Experience: 2-5 years

3 Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise in lathe machining, Basic die fitting and repair knowledge,

Familiarity with mechanical drawings, Skilled in precision measurement, Awareness of workplace

safety

Key Responsibilities:

1 Operate manual/conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, grooving, and chamfering.

Set up machine parameters, tools, and workpieces as per drawing specifications.

2 Ensure precision machining to maintain tolerances. Assist in the fabrication, fitting, and repair of dies

used in manufacturing processes.

3 Read and interpret technical drawings, tool designs, and die blueprints. Conduct trial runs and ensure

dies are properly aligned and functional.

4 Use measuring tools like Vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and height gauge. Inspect finished

parts/dies for dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

5 Ensure components meet QC standards before dispatch or assembly. Perform routine preventive

maintenance of the lathe machine.

6 Maintain proper lubrication and cleanliness of tools and machines. Report any faults or abnormalities to

the maintenance team.

7. Follow production schedules and job cards. Maintain daily production log, job completion status, and

downtime reporting.

8 Collaborate with supervisors to optimize job setup and tooling changes. Adhere to plant safety

standards and PPE usage.

9 Follow 5S and housekeeping practices around the machine area.

10. Ensure safe handling of dies, work pieces, and cutting tools.
