1. Machine Operation

• Operate laser cutting machines to cut, etch, or engrave materials like metal, plastic, wood, or composites.

• Set up the machine with correct parameters based on material type and thickness.

• Load and unload materials onto the laser cutting bed.

2. Programming and Setup

• Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.

• Input cutting programs into the machine using CNC or software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or proprietary laser software).

• Calibrate the laser cutter, adjust focus, and set correct cutting speeds and power levels.

3. Quality Control

• Inspect cut parts for accuracy, edge quality, and dimensional tolerances using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).

• Perform first-article inspections and periodic quality checks during production runs.

• Identify and report defects or malfunctions promptly.

4. Maintenance

• Perform routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning lenses, checking coolant levels, and replacing worn parts.

• Report and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues or malfunctions.

5. Safety and Compliance

• Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing.

• Ensure proper ventilation and handling of materials, especially when cutting hazardous or coated materials.

• Comply with workplace policies, health & safety standards, and environmental regulations.

6. Material Handling

• Organize and store raw materials and finished parts appropriately.

• Track inventory levels and communicate when stock is low or needs to be reordered.

7. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain production records, logs, and quality checklists.

• Report machine usage, downtime, and completed work orders to supervisors or through digital systems.

8. Collaboration and Communication

• Coordinate with engineers, designers, or production managers to resolve issues or clarify instructions.

• Work alongside other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.
