CNC Machine Operator

Responsible for operation of CNC – VMC machines with Sinumeric controls with maximum run time / uptime to deliver the targeted /allocated  output per hour / shift.

Responsible for operating the VMC machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and proving part programs to achieve the quality and quantity.

Keep a clean and manageable working area in the shop floor. No materials should be kept on the floor / gangway / walkways. All the material / tool / inserts should be utilised optimally and should not be wasted.

To work as per the instructions of the supervisor / plant manager to ensure the schedule, material / tool / cutter / fixture availability on a weekly / daily / shift basis.

Should adhere to control plans, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, reference planes, location of surfaces, process sequence, machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.

To verify settings by measuring positions, first--‐run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to first off inspection standards.

Implement ISO 9000 / TS 16949 / IATF procedures / improvement plans as rolled by the company

Should implement Kaizens and 5S in your area of responsibility.

Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

To ensure submission of all production documents E.g. Routing sheet, first off inspection report, production report, daily log of cutter / tool utilisation.

To report any tooling required / any resource required to Shop / Plant Manager

To maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. E.g. Wearing shoes, personal protective equipment as required

To maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Any other duties as required, commensurate with job position.
