AutoCAD Designer

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drawing & Drafting

• Produce precise technical drawings of fire doors, frames, and hardware using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).

• Create plan, elevation, section, and detail drawings for fire-rated door assemblies.

• Update and revise drawings according to design changes, site conditions, or regulatory requirements.

2. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure all drawings comply with fire-safety standards (e.g., NFPA 80, UL10C, BS 476, EN 1634, or local building codes).

• Interpret and apply fire rating requirements, labeling requirements, and hardware configurations.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements.

• Coordinate with manufacturers to ensure compatibility of fire-rated components.

• Communicate discrepancies, design issues, and potential challenges early in the process.

4. Documentation & Quality Control

• Prepare submittal packages including drawings, material lists, hardware schedules, and compliance documents.

• Maintain accurate records of revisions, approvals, and project milestones.

• Perform self-checks and quality reviews before submission.

5. Support & Technical Assistance

• Provide technical assistance during installation or manufacturing when required.

• Answer queries related to fire door construction, hardware details, and regulatory compliance.
