To lead new product development activities with strong expertise in AutoCAD and sheet metal component design, ensuring smooth development from concept to prototype and final approval.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 1. Product Design & Development
Develop new sheet metal components using AutoCAD
Create 2D drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, and specifications
Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for laser cutting, bending, punching, etc.
Modify existing designs for improvement or cost reduction
Maintain drawing revision control and documentation
🔹 2. Sheet Metal Expertise
Design components considering:
Bending allowances
K-factor
Material thickness
Hole alignment and tolerances
Coordinate with vendors for tooling and die development
Ensure designs are feasible for fabrication and assembly
Troubleshoot issues during prototype development
🔹 3. New Product Development (NPD)
Handle full NPD cycle:
Concept development
Design preparation
Prototype creation
Trial feedback corrections
Final approval
Prepare BOM for new products
Coordinate with purchase and vendors for new parts
Support sample submission and approval process
🔹 4. Cost & Optimization
Optimize material utilization to reduce scrap
Suggest design improvements for faster fabrication
Reduce development time and trial iterations
