Job Title: Lab Assistant – Cattle Feed Industry

Location: Mughal majra, shambhu, (Rajpura ,Patiiala)

Department: Quality Control

Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Lab Assistant (Cattle Feed) is responsible for assisting in the testing, analysis, and quality assurance of raw materials, finished feed, and feed additives. The role ensures that all cattle feed products meet nutritional, safety, and regulatory standards through accurate laboratory testing and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sample Collection & Preparation

2. Laboratory Testing & Analysis

Conduct routine tests for moisture, crude protein, fiber, fat, ash, calcium, phosphorus, and other nutrients.

Operate and maintain basic lab equipment such as balances, ovens, muffle furnaces, soxhlet and pH meters.

3. Quality Control & Assurance

Support the implementation of feed quality standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Record test results and report deviations to Production Manager.

Help in calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.

Participate in internal audits and support compliance with FSSAI, BIS, ISO, or GMP requirements.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate test records, lab registers, and data sheets.

Prepare and file daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports.

Assist in maintaining raw material and finished feed quality databases.

5. Safety & Housekeeping

Follow laboratory safety, hygiene, and waste disposal guidelines.

Ensure proper handling of chemicals, glassware, and samples.

Keep the laboratory organized, clean.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (Bsc.) in Animal Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Agriculture or related fields

Experience:

0-1 years of experience in a feed mill, food testing, or animal nutrition laboratory

(Freshers are also welcome)

Skills:

Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and quality standards.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in maintaining accurate lab documentation.

Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, data entry).

Salary Range:

12000-15000, based on qualifications and experience.
