Key Responsibilities:
Install, splice, test, and repair fiber optic cables, WIFI router configuration (underground and overhead).
Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure signal quality and strength.
Interpret network diagrams, fiber schematics, and blueprints.
Terminate fiber cables using proper connectors (SC, LC, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of fiber routes, splicing logs, and test results.
Identify and resolve fiber cuts, bends, and performance issues.
Coordinate with NOC and field teams for downtime and restoration.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices in the field.
Provide support for fiber link activation and customer connections.
Use tools such as splicing machines, fusion splicers, OTDR, and fiber cleavers.
Travel to various installation sites as required.
Requirements:
ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in fiber optic cable installation and maintenance.
Proficiency in handling OTDR, power meters, and splicing machines.
Knowledge of fiber types (single-mode, multi-mode) and color codes.
Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and in outdoor environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Valid driving license (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GPON, EPON, or FTTH networks.
Understanding of ISP/telecom infrastructure.
