Job Title: Quality Inspector – Tool Manufacturing

Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality of tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and precision-machined components in accordance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role ensures compliance with dimensional, functional, and surface finish requirements to support zero-defect delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and machined components
Read and interpret tool drawings, CAD prints, GD&T symbols, and specifications
Conduct dimensional inspection using precision measuring instruments such as:
Vernier calipers
Micrometers (OD/ID/Depth)
Height gauge, surface plate
Dial indicators, bore gauges
Slip gauges, profile projector, CMM (basic exposure preferred)
Inspect surface finish, hardness, alignment, and fitment of tools
Ensure compliance with customer standards and internal quality procedures
Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products
Maintain inspection records, reports, and traceability documents
Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Assist during internal, customer, and external audits
Coordinate with manufacturing, CNC machining, tool room, and design teams
Follow 5S, safety, and shop-floor discipline
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of tool manufacturing processes (CNC machining, EDM, grinding, fitting, polishing)
Good understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (preferred)
Basic knowledge of PPAP, SPC, MSA (advantage)
Ability to work independently on the shop floor
Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inspection reports)
Educational Qualification:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Tool & Die Making, or related discipline
Preferred Experience:
Experience in tool room / die & mold manufacturing
Exposure to CMM operation or third-party inspection
Knowledge of automotive tooling standards
