Mechanical Design Engineer
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in industrial equipment design. The candidate will be responsible for designing hydraulic lifting equipment and creating detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. You will work closely with production, purchase, service, and installation teams to develop high-quality, cost-effective, and customized engineering solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Design hydraulic goods lifts, scissor lifts, manual/electric stackers, dock levelers, dock ramps, pallet trucks, and other heavy fabricated industrial equipment.
Create 3D models, 2D drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, manufacturing drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using SolidWorks.
Perform load calculations, structural strength analysis, and design validation for heavy-duty equipment.
Design products considering safety, structural integrity, manufacturing feasibility, and installation requirements.
Select suitable hydraulic cylinders, power packs, bearings, chains, rollers, and structural materials.
Develop customized designs as per customer requirements.
Coordinate with production, purchase, quality, service, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Improve existing product designs and provide technical support for troubleshooting.
Maintain engineering documents, drawing revisions, and ensure compliance with industrial safety standards.
Optimize designs to improve quality, durability, manufacturing efficiency, and cost.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (Part Modeling, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Assemblies, Drafting).
Experience with SolidWorks Simulation/FEA for structural analysis, load testing, stress analysis, and design optimization.
Good understanding of hydraulic systems, fabricated structures, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of material selection, load-bearing structures, and mechanical design principles.
Ability to prepare production-ready drawings and BOM.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a practical approach to manufacturing and product development.
