Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Computer Typist to join our legal law firm. The candidate will be responsible for typing, formatting, editing, and maintaining legal documents, case files, and other official records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Type and prepare legal documents, petitions, affidavits, agreements, applications, notices, and other legal correspondence.

• Prepare and format court-related documents as instructed by advocates.

• Type documents in English and/or Hindi/Punjabi, as required.

• Maintain case files, client records, and legal documentation systematically.

• Proofread documents to ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, formatting, and legal terminology.

• Scan, print, photocopy, and organize legal documents.

• Maintain digital and physical records of cases and client documents.

• Assist advocates and office staff with routine documentation and administrative tasks.

• Ensure confidentiality of client information and sensitive legal documents.

• Complete assigned typing work within the required deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 10+2 qualification; graduation preferred.

• Good typing speed with high accuracy.

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, email, and basic computer operations.

• Knowledge of document formatting, page numbering, margins, and printing.

• Familiarity with legal terminology and court documentation will be an advantage.

• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work under deadlines and follow instructions carefully.

• Honest, punctual, disciplined, and willing to learn.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with prior experience in a law firm, advocate's office, court, or legal documentation work will be preferred.
