Position: STP/WTP Electrician
Roles & Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain all electrical systems and equipment in the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, pumps, blowers, agitators, compressors, and dosing systems.
Maintain and service electrical panels, MCCs, PCCs, APFC panels, control panels, and distribution boards.
Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical circuits, wiring, and power supply systems.
Install, test, and commission electrical equipment, cables, and accessories.
Maintain and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, contactors, relays, timers, and other control devices.
Assist in the maintenance and calibration of field instruments such as level transmitters, flow meters, pressure switches, and sensors.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Ensure proper earthing, insulation resistance testing, and electrical safety compliance.
Monitor power consumption and identify opportunities for energy conservation.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams for planned maintenance and emergency repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and statutory electrical regulations.
Report equipment abnormalities, potential hazards, and maintenance requirements to the Site Supervisor/Plant Manager.
Keep work areas clean and ensure all maintenance activities are completed according to company standards and safety guidelines.
Respond promptly to emergency electrical breakdowns to minimize plant downtime.
Support plant upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities as required.
