Job Summary
At S Tallam and Co. we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Paid Assistant / Audit Assistant to join our CA firm in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. The candidate will support chartered accountants in conducting statutory and tax audits, managing GST and TDS compliance, assisting in internal audit engagements, due diligence assignments, and Virtual CFO service deliverables. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh finance graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience to build a strong foundation in audit, compliance, and financial advisory services.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist in planning and execution of Statutory Audits for companies, LLPs, and other entities as per applicable standards.
• Support Tax Audit engagements including preparation of Form 3CA/3CB/3CD and related documentation.
• Handle GST compliance — preparation and filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B.
• Assist in TDS computation, deduction verification, and timely filing of TDS returns (24Q, 26Q).
• Participate in Internal Audit assignments — process documentation, control testing, and report drafting.
• Support Due Diligence reviews including financial analysis, verification of books, and preparation of due diligence reports.
• Assist in Virtual CFO services — MIS reporting, cash flow projections, variance analysis, and financial dashboards.
• Maintain proper audit working papers, files, and documentation as per firm standards.
• Co-ordinate with clients for data collection, query resolution, and follow-ups.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws, GST notifications, and accounting standards.
Required Skills
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and Indian financial reporting standards.
• Working knowledge of GST law, TDS provisions, and income tax compliance.
• Familiarity with audit procedures and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for reporting and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with Tally ERP for accounting entries, ledger management, and financial reports.
• Working knowledge of Zoho Books / Zoho suite for invoicing, reconciliation, and client account management.
• Ability to prepare MIS reports, reconciliation statements, and financial summaries.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills — written and verbal (English & Kannada preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification
• B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) or M.Com (Master of Commerce) from a recognised university.
• Candidates pursuing CA Inter / CMA Inter will be given preference.
• Additional certifications in GST, Tally, or SAP will be an added advantage.
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a CA firm or audit/finance role.
• Hands-on experience with GST filings, TDS returns, and audit support will be preferred.
• Freshers with strong academics and internship experience in a CA firm may also apply.
