Job Title: Junior Pastry Chef
Job Summary
The Junior Pastry Chef assists the Pastry Chef in the daily preparation and production of desserts and baked goods. This role focuses on learning core pastry techniques, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting smooth kitchen operations while ensuring consistency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of desserts such as cakes, mousses, cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, and pastries
Follow recipes and instructions provided by the Pastry Chef to ensure consistency
Prepare ingredients including weighing, mixing, and basic baking tasks
Support daily production and packaging of desserts
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and storage areas
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with basic decoration, plating, and finishing of desserts
Help with inventory checks and stock rotation (FIFO)
Support senior chefs during bulk, custom, and special orders
Properly clean and maintain tools, equipment, and workstations
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge or training in pastry/baking (certificate, course, or internship preferred)
Willingness to learn and take instructions
Attention to detail and consistency
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety practices
Passion for desserts and baking
Team player with a positive attitude :)
