Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Materials Management Officer to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of materials across all functions of the company. The role requires close coordination with clients, vendors, project managers, and internal teams to ensure timely availability, accurate documentation, cost efficiency, and smooth flow of materials ranging from sophisticated machines to tiniest consumables, from Paint Materials to safety equipment, etc.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of leveraging data and technology to drive efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement in material management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Material Coordination & Logistics
Liaise with clients, vendors, project managers, and transportation partners for seamless material pick-up, movement, and delivery.
Ensure timely and accurate handling of materials, covering a wide range of items from machines to consumables.
Documentation & Compliance
Manage billing, invoicing, delivery challans, and all related documentation.
Ensure records are accurate, compliant, and easily accessible for audits and internal use.
Material Planning & Control
Collaborate with planning, procurement, and execution teams to forecast demand and pre-order critical materials.
Monitor stock thresholds, deployments, and availability to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
Reporting & Analysis
Generate regular MIS reports and analyze key metrics to monitor performance and identify inefficiencies.
Present insights and recommendations for improving material flow and utilization.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify repetitive manual tasks and implement automation solutions.
Continuously streamline workflows and introduce innovative mechanisms to enhance productivity.
Operational Support
Support day-to-day operational activities related to materials management.
Drive cross-functional collaboration and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
3–6 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or logistics (preferably in project-based industries).
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
Proficiency in any ERP/Materials Management systems and MS Excel.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
