Logistics Import Freight Forwarding Executive

Job Summary
The Import Logistics Executive will manage end-to-end import operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods from overseas suppliers to company warehouses. The role involves coordination with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth clearance and delivery of imported shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with freight forwarders for timely dispatch and tracking of import shipments.

• Manage end-to-end customs clearance process including Bill of Entry filing, duty checklist checking, duty payment, and liaison with Customs House Agents (CHAs).

• Verify and process import documentation — Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, Import License, etc.

• Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs Act, and applicable import regulations (including HS code classification and duty structure).

• Track shipment status and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues.

• Coordinate with warehouse/inventory teams for scheduling inbound receipts and stock updates.

• Monitor and control import costs including freight, duty, and clearance charges; assist in cost optimization.

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and customs documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

• Liaise with finance team for advance payments, and vendor invoice reconciliation.

• Prepare periodic MIS reports on import status, costs, and turnaround times.
  
  Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in import operations/logistics.

  • Working knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, HS codes, and import documentation.

  • Familiarity with DGFT, ICEGATE, and customs clearance software/portals.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics/ERP systems.

  • Strong coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams.
    
    Preferred

    • Experience working with CHAs and freight forwarders directly.

• It is a Full Time Warehouse / Logistics job for candidates with 2 - 4 years of experience.
