Technician

Install, align, and commission marine HVAC systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Exhaust and Supply Fans, and Chiller/Compressor units onboard vessels. Carry out fabrication and installation of ducting, insulation, supports, and flexible connections as per ship design drawings.

Execute copper piping, brazing, flaring, leak testing, and nitrogen pressure testing for refrigerant and chilled water systems.Connect and calibrate temperature controllers, pressure switches, thermostats, and automation sensors.

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of HVAC systems on vessels and in workshops.Clean and replace air filters, inspect belts and bearings, check refrigerant pressures, and service motors and fans.

Ensure proper air balancing and maintain required temperature/humidity levels in accommodation, control rooms, and machinery spaces.

Diagnose and rectify faults in compressors, motors, contactors, sensors, and duct systems.Detect and repair refrigerant leaks, replace defective valves, thermostats, solenoids, or electrical components.

Re-gas, vacuum, and test systems for performance and safety before handover.

Coordinate with electrical, piping, and automation teams for integrated HVAC operation and testing.Assist engineers during system trials, commissioning, and classification society inspections.

Maintain service logs, leak test reports,

Follow shipyard and onboard safety procedures, including hot work permits and confined-space entry rules.

Use PPE and ensure safe handling of refrigerants, cleaning chemicals, and high-pressure equipment. Ensure all works comply with classification and environmental standards.
