Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Solar Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer to ensure the efficient operation, preventive maintenance, and maximum performance of solar PV power plants. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting faults, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring high system uptime while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the performance of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of solar power plants.
Troubleshoot faults in PV modules, inverters, transformers, ACDB/DCDB panels, cables, SCADA systems, and electrical equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, thermography, IV curve testing, insulation resistance testing, and performance analysis.
Monitor generation data and identify performance losses.
Coordinate inverter servicing and equipment maintenance with OEMs and vendors.
Ensure plant availability, generation efficiency, and minimum downtime.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports and maintenance logs.
Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement requirements.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company SOPs, and statutory regulations.
Support commissioning, testing, and handover of new solar projects.
Attend customer complaints and provide prompt technical support.
Supervise O&M technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in solar plant operation and maintenance.
Freshers with strong technical knowledge may be considered for trainee roles.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical equipment.
Experience with inverters (Sungrow, Huawei, Growatt, Solis, SMA, ABB, etc.).
Knowledge of SCADA, remote monitoring systems, and data analysis.
Familiarity with testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, thermal cameras, and IV curve tracers.
Understanding of electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Strong communication and reporting abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance reporting software.

Energy generation performance (PR and CUF where applicable).
Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Preventive maintenance compliance.
