Job Summary
The Machine Supervisor is responsible for managing all painting equipment and machinery at project sites, ensuring machines are available, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently. The role includes supervising machine operators, coordinating machine movement between sites, conducting preventive maintenance, maintaining service records, and minimizing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operations
Supervise the operation of all painting equipment such as:
Airless Spray Machines
Putty Spray Machines
Sanding Machines
Texture Spray Machines
Vacuum Systems
Pressure Washers
Air Compressors
Ensure machines are used according to company SOPs.
Verify proper machine setup before work begins.
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform daily inspection of machines.
Schedule preventive maintenance.
Coordinate repairs with service centers or technicians.
Maintain spare parts inventory.
Ensure timely servicing to reduce downtime.
Inventory Management
Maintain records of all machines and accessories.
Track machine allocation across projects.
Monitor fuel, oil, filters, hoses, nozzles, and consumables.
Report damaged or missing equipment.
Team Supervision
Supervise machine operators and helpers.
Train operators on safe machine handling.
Monitor productivity and adherence to safety procedures.
Ensure operators perform daily cleaning and maintenance.
Documentation
Maintain:
Machine Log Book
Service History
Breakdown Register
Machine Utilization Report
Daily Inspection Checklist
Submit daily and weekly reports to management.
Safety
Ensure PPE is used during machine operation.
Conduct safety checks before machine use.
Report unsafe conditions immediately.
Ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
Coordination
Coordinate with Project Managers regarding machine requirements.
Plan machine movement between project sites.
Coordinate with Procurement for spare parts and consumables.
Coordinate with Logistics for transportation of equipment.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical/Electrical (preferred)
2–5 years of experience in construction, painting, or industrial equipment supervision
Knowledge of painting machinery and preventive maintenance
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to maintain records using Excel or ERP software
