Responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, vendor coordination, material availability, inventory control, and day-to-day stores operations. The role ensures timely procurement of materials at the right quality and cost while maintaining accurate inventory records and proper storage practices.
Key Responsibilities
Raise and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with suppliers/vendors.
Obtain and compare quotations and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
Verify purchased materials against purchase orders, invoices, and specifications.
Coordinate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Accounts, and other departments for material requirements.
Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, GRNs, and related records.
Receive, inspect, and arrange materials in the stores.
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
Issue materials against approved requisitions and maintain proper documentation.
Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels and initiate timely replenishment.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure proper identification, labeling, stacking, and storage of materials.
Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification and payment processing.
Maintain vendor performance and purchase-related records.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Prepare periodic reports on purchases, inventory, pending orders, and stock status.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in Purchase, Stores, Procurement, or Inventory Management.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/software systems.
Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and vendor management.
Good communication, negotiation, coordination, and organizational skills.
