Outward Executive

Job Summary

Responsible for managing day-to-day outward operations from order release to dispatch, ensuring accurate picking, packing, checking, documentation, system updates and timely vehicle handover. The role requires close coordination with inventory, transporters, supervisors, customer/client teams and other warehouse functions to achieve dispatch TAT and SLA.

Key Responsibilities

Execute daily outward/dispatch activities as per approved orders, wave plans and dispatch schedules. Coordinate picking, packing, sorting, staging and final dispatch of customer/client orders. Verify SKU, quantity, batch/serial details, packaging and other order requirements before dispatch. Ensure correct scanning, system transactions and documentation for outward movements in WMS/ERP.

Prepare and verify dispatch documents such as invoice, delivery challan, packing list, e-way bill, labels and transporter documents, as applicable.

Coordinate with transporters and vehicle drivers for vehicle placement, loading, dispatch and handover. Ensure FIFO/FEFO or client-specific dispatch rules are followed wherever applicable.

Monitor pending orders, short/excess quantities, damages, mismatches, holds and other dispatch exceptions. Coordinate with inventory and quality teams for stock availability, discrepancies and order clearance. Maintain dispatch records, POD/TDR documentation and other outward-related records. Track dispatch TAT/SLA and immediately escalate risks of delay or order breach to the reporting supervisor. Support daily MIS reporting for dispatched, pending, cancelled, held and exception orders. Maintain 5S, safety, housekeeping and process discipline within the outward area.

Follow warehouse SOPs, client requirements and company policies at all times.

Required Skills & Competencies

Good understanding of warehouse outward, dispatch and fulfillment processes.

Basic knowledge of WMS/ERP and barcode/scanner-based operations.

Good Excel and MIS reporting skills.

Strong coordination and communication skills.

Ability to work under dispatch deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Attention to detail and accuracy in order/document verification.

Problem-solving and escalation management capability.

Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, if required.

Qualification & Experience

Graduate / Diploma / 12th pass; qualification may vary based on company requirements. 1–3 years of experience in warehouse outward, dispatch, fulfillment, logistics or e-commerce operations preferred. Experience with WMS/ERP, Excel and scanner-based warehouse processes will be an advantage.

Working Conditions

Warehouse-based role involving coordination on the shop floor, movement of dispatch documents/materials and regular interaction with operations, inventory, transport and client teams. Shift work may be required depending on business operations.
